My wife and I were determined to raise a family in our own space.

Fed up with high rent prices, long leases and discriminatory occupancy policies, we sought a better alternative to apartment life without the vast debt of home-ownership.

We decided to transform a school bus into a tiny home and live in it year-round.

Our initial aim was to create a self-sufficient, off-grid micro home to minimize our cost of living. By spending less on housing, we could leverage our modest income to save money and pay off debt.

Our theory was that escaping from the choke-hold of major monthly expenses would afford us the security to take risks in search of meaningful work, the flexibility to choose each other over a paycheck, and the resilience to weather any storm.
